An attorney for the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center has been charged with domestic terrorism in connection with rioting in Atlanta and is alleged to be an Antifa activist.

28-year-old One of the 23 people detained following tense confrontations between Police and protesters at the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center construction site is Thomas Webb Jurgens.

Others include protesters with a history of doing so, a former teacher, and a young dancer who has just started participating in the action.

Fireworks and Molotov bombs were used during the riots on Sunday to attack Police and wreck machinery and construction equipment.

Activists have been holding protests against the Police station, known as “Cop City,” for months.

Who Is Zoe Larmey?

Zoe Larmey is one of the terrorists arrested by the Police in the confrontation while doing the protest.

The group is accused of transferring from a nearby music event on Sunday night to the construction site of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center “to execute a concerted attack on construction equipment and Police employees.”

After wearing black clothing, the group is accused of attacking Police officers with commercial-grade fireworks, Molotov bombs, large rocks, and bricks.

Polit Halt, A music festival close to the training location, according to the city, was raided by Police.

Since a state trooper shot and killed a protester there, tensions have been high. The GBI, however, asserts that the protester fired first.

On Monday, Channel 2 reporter Michael Seident returned to the scene and saw state officials scouring and cataloging the burned-out wreckage left behind.

The night began with a music festival at the site where Atlanta wanted to build a Police and Fire training facility, but it rapidly turned chaotic.

Key Road, a group of violent agitators attacked Police officers and construction equipment.

The festival was part of what opponents of the facility characterized as a “week of mobilization.”

To show their opposition, Stop Cop City and Preserve Atlanta Forest publicized the events planned for the week.

They asked people from all over the country to demonstrate support for their cause, and hundreds of people attended.

Sunday night attendees told Channel 2’s Courtney Francisco that a group broke off to protest nearby at about 5 pm.

APD said that over 100 protesters dressed in all-black entered the construction area and began throwing Molotov cocktails, enormous rocks, bricks, and fireworks at Police officers.

What happened between Police and protesters?

A significant incident between Police and protesters occurs when individuals and activist groups assemble at the proposed site for a “week of action” to oppose its development.

This is the first week of action since the state killed someone, according to Marlon Kautz, an activist with the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, referencing the Police shooting death of Manuel Paez Teran in January.

According to a covert autopsy, he had been shot 13 times.

Teran, who was described as nonbinary, allegedly fired at a Georgia State Patrol trooper during a “clearing operation” of the purported autonomous zone at the $90 million project site, according to officials.

The jam-packed week’s events included a Jewish Shabbat service in the evening, herbal classes, and a “know your rights” program.

The demonstrators who had lately fled into the woods when the fierce brawl broke out Sunday night were to attend a Weelaunee Music Festival.
