A message from HOT 102.7FM on Sunday revealed his passing at 53. It stated that he went away early on Sunday morning at home with his family.
“DJ Mark Pilgrim passed away this morning after a fight with Cancer. He put up a brave battle all the way through. Mark went away quietly at home with his fiancée Adrienne.
In 2022, Mark received a stage four lung Cancer diagnosis. After three years in remission, he confirmed that it had reappeared.
At the age of 18, Mark has diagnosed with stage three testicular Cancer.
In addition to being a radio host, he hosted the first two seasons of the reality TV programs Big Brother Africa and Big Brother South Africa.

Mark Pilgrim Illness And Health Condition Before Death
He has the guts to talk about his experience with lung Cancer. In February 2022, Pilgrim received a second lung Cancer diagnosis.
Since then, he has been fighting bravely to preserve his life. He first had a Stage 3 testicular Cancer diagnosis in 1988, which he overcame.
He had a severe heart attack in 2008 that permanently damaged his heart. He defeated pneumonia and corona in 2021 during the COVID-19 epidemic.
While having fluid drained from his abdomen, Mark posted his most recent photo on social media to keep his supporters informed of his progress. Presently extremely thin, having more fluid removed from his abdomen to provide some room for meals in there,” he explains.

What Happened To Radio And TV Presenter?
After a fight with stage 4 lung Cancer, Mark Pilgrim passed away. After being identified in March 2022, he reported in June of that same year that the illness had spread to his femur, the bottom of his spine, and lymph nodes.
Sadly, Pilgrim lost his battle with the illness despite receiving therapy.
Mark Pilgrim, one of the most beloved and significant media figures in South Africa, sadly passed away on March 5, 2023, leaving behind a legacy.
