Despite the challenging and demanding nature of the chemotherapy, Jeanette persevered through every session and ultimately triumphed by completing the entire regimen successfully.

The Dominance of Jeanette Lee in Professional Pool

Jeanette Lee asserted her dominance in the pro-pool world shortly after she embarked in 1989.

She became the world’s No. 1 female pool player in the 1990s and won the WPBA Sportsperson of the Year Award in 1998.

During 1993-96, she attained the second position three times in the women’s World Nine-ball Championships.

Apart from numerous impressive accomplishments on the WPBA Tour, she also secured the gold medal for the United States in the 2001 World Games held in Akita, Japan.

Twice, in 1999 and 2003, she claimed the championship title and the prize of US$25,000 in the Tournament of Champions exclusively for female players.

Additionally, Lee authored a book called The Black Widow’s Guide to Killer Pool.

The Billiard Congress of America, Hall of Fame, inducted Lee in 2013 as a tribute to her outstanding sports contributions.

Residing in Tampa, Florida, Jeanette Lee shares her home with her three daughters. She was called the Black Widow by her friends for her fierce pool-playing style and habit of wearing black.

Jeanette Lee announced in February 2021 that she had been diagnosed with terminal ovarian Cancer at stage IV. In addition to Cancer, she has scoliosis but is very vocal about her treatment and medical progress.

The premiere of “Jeanette Lee Vs.,” a documentary directed by Ursula Liang that chronicles Jeanette Lee’s life, occurred at the DOC NYC film festival on November 12, 2022.
