Unconfirmed reports said that she died from being laced during a trip to Mexico for her birthday, which was on March 3, 2025.
The FBU in the U.S. State Department is investigating the incident. Hazel Alston took to her Facebook handle and paid a tribute to Ashley by stating,

Sadly, Anitra’s father, Randy, born on December 8, 1957, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024, at the age of 66.
