Jon Kay is an English television presenter, Journalist, and newsreader. 

He is best known for his work as the host of “BBC Breakfast,” which he started in 2010. 

Kay started working as a full-time reporter for “BBC Radio Bristol” after stints at local BBC radio stations.

Likewise, he has hosted shows including “Drive on 5 Live,” documentaries for Radio 4, and “It’s Not Easy Being Green” on BBC Two.

No, Jon Kay isn’t leaving “BBC Breakfast.” 

In fact, Jon was replaced in a short-term re-organization, and the show switched to all-female hosts. 

On Monday, January 25, the host was off the red sofa, where he regularly hosts the show from Monday through Wednesday.

Instead, he was replaced by Nina Warhurst, the stand-in host.

This caused panic among fans and supporters.

But rest assured, as the official website hasn’t released news regarding departure.

The announcement of an all-female presenting lineup follows comments made by a former host that BBC Breakfast was a “pretty sexist” workplace in the 1980s.

The BBC Breakfast program may be attempting to demonstrate its gender equality policy since it recently celebrated its 40th year.

Nevertheless, Jon hasn’t commented on his absence from the show on social media.

Jon Kay’s Personal Life 

Jon Kay was born on 8 November 1969 in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, to parents Terry Kay and Tommie Duncan.

He grew up with three siblings and went to Chester’s Abbey Gate College in Cheshire.

After that, Jon began attending the University of Exeter in Devon when he was 18 years old.

He played around in University Radio Exeter’s studios while he was a student, which inspired him to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.

After receiving his BA in Politics, Jon entered the BBC as a local trainee reporter in 1992.

Talking about his personal life, Kay and his future wife Francesca Kasteliz met as fellow BBC trainees.

The pair wedded in 1998; they are parents to three kids.
