Paul is married for the second time; he married Teresa Fernandes from 1977 to 2005. Teresa Fernandes is a Portuguese lady who was once married to Paul O’Grady, a British television personality and comedian.

They married on April 1, 1977, in what Paul called a “marriage of convenience” to prevent Teresa from being deported from the United Kingdom. They eventually divorced, although there is no information on when this happened.

Paul said it was a “marriage of convenience,” stating he married Teresa Fernandes in 1977 to save her from being deported. He also stated that he was “not in a relationship” with her.

“Teresa, the lesbian Portuguese barmaid, was amazing,” Paul added. “She reminded me of David Cassidy. “When I was 22, we worked at a London club.

“She came from a very conservative Catholic household and was constantly harassed by them: ‘Why aren’t you getting married?’ So I replied, ‘Come on then, we’ll be married,’ and she agreed.

“I had no clue we were still married until my boss Brendan stated, ‘If you died, everything would go to your wife.'” It’s like a real-life Corrie plot.”
