The world is mourning the death of wrestler Jay Briscoe, who passed away due to an automobile accident at 38. 

Jamin Pugh, better known by his stage name Jay Briscoe was an American professional wrestler. 

He was best recognized for his time spent with Ring of Honor (ROH), where he was, with his brother Mark Briscoe the reigning World Tag Team Champions.

Similarly, he was the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion and a two-time ROH World Champion.

Who Is Jay Briscoe Brother Mark Briscoe?

Mark Briscoe is the brother of Jay Briscoe, who was also his partner in the ring. 

Born on January 18, 1985, in Laurel, Delaware, the 39 years old athlete is presently under contract with Ring of Honor.

 On January 20, 2001, the two brothers debuted in Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW).

After entry into the world of wrestling, they started rising quickly.

He and Jay also competed in pro wrestling in Japan, working for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).

They secured the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, IWGP Tag Team Championship, and NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship.

With a career expansion of more than two decades, Mark has made a “mark” in combat sports.

Jay Briscoe was born in Salisbury, Maryland, on January 25, 1984.

His mother’s identity has not been revealed, but his father’s name is Mike Briscoe.

In 2010, his father joined them in the ring, where he and his brother teamed with their father in a six-man tag team match. 

His dad’s nickname was Mike “Papa” Briscoe, and surprisingly, they won the match. 

Talking about ethnicity, Jay was white and a holder of American nationality. 

The Briscoe Brothers have competed in the most Ring of Honor matches.

The first-ever ROH show, “The Era of Honor Begins,” featured Jay in a match.

Moreover, he also had a single career, where he was a two-time ROH World Champion in singles matches.

The Briscoe brothers were very close, as they shared an immense bond on the ring and outside. 

Beginning in August 2004, the brothers took a lengthy break from professional wrestling.

Mark was hurt in a motorbike accident, and Jay didn’t want to wrestle again without his brother.

Therefore, they stopped accepting bookings from any organization.

Their comeback to ROH was hyped at the Fourth Anniversary Show in February 2006.

The duo first appeared there in mid-2005 for Pro Wrestling Unplugged and then again for ROH in late 2005.

Jay Briscoe Death 

Jay Briscoe passed away at the age of 38 in a vehicle accident in Laurel, Delaware.

Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away, wrote AEW owner Tony Khan on Twitter on Tuesday, using the wrestler’s real name.

It was reported that the incident occurred at 5:30 on Tuesday, & his two kids were also involved in the accident.

In addition, it was verified that Mark Briscoe, his brother, was not riding along.

Despite a legendary career spanning two decades, the brothers were perhaps in the middle of their strongest run.

Hardcore wrestling fans have long regarded “The Briscoes” as one of the top tag teams in the world.

The tragic news has devasted his fans and families as he was just one week away from turning 39.

Fans and fellow wrestlers have poured love and passed their condolences to his family on social media.
