Victoria Gowri is a Madras High Court Additional Judge. She received a Dr. B.C. Awards for being the district’s top social worker in Kanyakumari.

In Tamil Nadu, the Women’s Wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got elected to be led by Gowri in 2010. During the Indian general election of 2014, she claimed the Party’s nomination.

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to deny a case challenging the Collegium’s proposal to elevate advocate LC Victoria Gowri to the Madras high court, she took her oath as a new judge of the Madras high court on Tuesday.

When she got appointed as an additional judge of the Madras High Court on Tuesday, she got confronted with opposition from a portion of the legal community.

Gowri and the other four individuals took oaths of office from T Raja, the Madras High Court’s acting Chief Justice.
After Gowri’s oath at 10.35 am, the Supreme Court postponed the hearing of petitions challenging her appointment.

A group of attorneys disagreed with the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation. They noted her prior affiliation with the BJP and claimed she had used “hate speech” occasionally.

Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud decided to list the matters for hearing before the proper Bench on Tuesday after being mentioned.

Gowri was sworn in by Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court Justice T Raja after the routine procedures, which included reading out the Warrant of Appointment signed by the President.

Who Is Victoria Gowri Husband Hulasi Muthuram?

Victoria is a well-known attorney with more than 20 years of experience. She was recently announced as a candidate to be a judge on the Madaras High Court, which placed her in the news.

Thiru Thulasi Muthuram is Gowri’s husband. In all of her “experiments,” her husband supported her. No personal information is given about him. The details of Victoria’s husband are kept private.

On May 21, 1973, Victoria Gowri was born in Parvathipuram, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. As of 2024, she is 50 years old.

Her real name is Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri, and she follows the Hindu religion. She has not yet disclosed information about her parents, siblings, or other family members.

She is an excellent student and holds a law degree from the reputed Madurai Law College. After graduating, Gowri earned her MSc from Mother Theresa University in Kodaikanal.

She has worked as a district panchayat counselor and joined the District Consumer Grievance handling Redressal Forum of the Electricity Board after working in district panchayats.
