Taylor Hurt was killed in a car accident a few weeks after she appeared on “Chopped.”

On November 29, 2020, the incident happened in Omaha, Nebraska, her hometown. According to reports, Taylor’s car reportedly went off the road and collided with a tree while she was returning home from a friend’s House.

The loss of Taylor Hurt to the culinary world was sad, but her legacy will endure thanks to her delectable dishes and the difference she made in the lives of those she touched.

Her participation in “Chopped” showed her love of cooking, and people will never forget her as a gifted cook with a promising future.

Many of her supporters paid tribute to her via social media. Brandi posted a picture of her TV screen and a caption stating that she and a buddy watched the show in Taylor’s honor.

The Reverend Brandiilyne Mangum-Dear presided at her funeral service, which was held on December 3 at 1:00 pm at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi.

The funeral home will be open for visitation on Thursday from noon to one o’clock. Following that, there will be an instant burial at Ellison Ridge Cemetery.

Taylor Hurt was born to parents Gary Hurt and Luvith Hurt. 

She was born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and before migrating to Brooklyn, New York, she worked as a sous cook at Cotton Blues and the Birdhouse Cafe.

Taylor was a well-regarded chef in Brooklyn, New York, at the LaRina restaurant. She developed many recipes, and she just worked with someone else on one featured in the cookbook “Be Nourished.”

She fulfilled one of her aspirations when she participated in a prestigious cooking competition that would be shown in the spring.

Taylor appeared on “Chopped,” but sadly, she failed. However, she dazzled the culinary world with her delectable three-course meals and their artful presentation.

However, her long life was cut short when she passed away on November 29, 2020.

According to her obituary, her ultimate dream was to one day appear as the host of a renowned cookery program, and she accomplished it on her own.
