The 188 cm tall and 89 kg young player played at Carlton J. Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia

Henderson recently stole the spotlight in the G League Showcase Cup, featuring 11 games in the 2021-22 season. Also, he enjoyed playing 10 exhibition games and averaged 4.2 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 14.3 points per game. 

The young American basketball talent was a five-star recruit. He sealed the deal with Ignite at 17, becoming the youngest player in G league history.

Scoot’s Father, Chris, is a coach and trainer. His mother, Crystal, is a healthcare administrator.

The young player’s parents together run the training facility in Marietta. Their facility is titled Next Play 360. 

Henderson’s parents shifted from Hempstead, New York, to Georgia, seeking better opportunities shortly before his birth. They raised their seven kids in Marietta, Georgia.

Scoot’s Father, Chris Henderson, was a basketball coach for years. He used to play on courts in Long Island during his early years. 

The player’s parents admitted him to their training facility and Carlton J. Kell High School, where he began his athletic career. Also, his Father was happy to train him. 

During an interview with New York Times, the proud Father said,

I’m extremely happy for him (referring to his son Scoot). At first I was tough on him and I ain’t going to lie.

He has gone through a lot of hard sessions and I  walk in the park, along with him, just for him to go through that.

Henderson took training under the guidance of his Father, Chris. His Father had a significant role in influencing his sports career as the youth sports star followed his dad’s guidance and played youth football.

He joined youth football before focusing on basketball in high school.

Other than his parents, Point Guard Scoot idolizes Kobe Bryant as his mentor. He is a fan of Bryant and emulated his schedule daily by waking up before 5 am to train.

Honestly speaking, Scoot Henderson has a huge family that includes his parents and six siblings.

Remarkably, all his family members are seriously athletic. Scoot is the second-youngest sibling of them all. 

Scoot’s 3 elder sisters played Division I basketball.

Precisely speaking, Onyx and China, 26, play at Cal State–Fullerton, while Diamond, 29, plays at Syracuse.

Moreover, Scoot’s older brother, CJ, was his teammate while he played at Kell High.

Also, his older brother, Jade, plays football. 

Scoot said this about being part of a sporting family:

I can’t just describe the feeling as they all understand where I’m coming from every time. Honestly, they won’t take me lightly.

My fam will let me know what’s real. They keep it straight with me although I sucked at a game or if I have a great game. They always tell me what I could do to have it done better. 

In addition, Scoot’s youngest sister, Crystal, 16, nicknamed Moochie, plays a point guard. She becomes one of the top-ranked youngest preps in Georgia.

Basketball News suggests that Scoot’s dad, Chris, pushed all his elder siblings to be their best at the local park, and Scoot would join the group wearing heavier ankle weights.
