 Rugby league has been a constant in Lane’s life, with his Father coaching him and his siblings on junior sides. The collision of family and football has inspired Lane to become a vocal advocate for mental health awareness and a keen student of human behavior.

Lane is set to complete a graduate diploma in psychology at UNSW early next year, with the possibility of pursuing a master’s degree. His Father’s condition has been a significant factor in his studies and interest in psychology.

Shaun has always been curious about how his Father’s mind works comparatively with other people’s and why he is constantly sad.

Lane’s interest in psychology was further piqued during his one-year stint at the Warriors in 2016, where he spent most of his time in reserve grade.

 He struggled with homesickness and misery and wondered how long he would last in the game. This experience made him more interested in psychology, as he saw it as a tool to improve his position in life. 

Despite his Father’s struggles with depression, Lane has learned to make the best of a difficult situation, using it as a catalyst for his career-best form and personal growth.

Rugby: Shaun lane mom and Siblings Explored

There is not much information available about Lane’s mother. However, it is mentioned that he has a sibling named Brett Lane, a former Bulldogs player.

Brett Lane is an Australian rugby league player who played as a forward. He played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs from 2007 to 2008, making 23 appearances for the club.

Brett Lane also played for other teams in the lower grades, such as the St. George Illawarra Dragons and the Penrith Panthers.

While not much is known about Lane’s mother, it is clear that he comes from a family with a strong rugby league background, with his brother Brett also having played at a high level in the sport.

Shaun Lane is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays as a second-row forward for the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League (NRL). 

Born on 9th June 1994 in Sydney, Australia, Lane grew up playing rugby league from a young age and has always had a passion for the game.

After playing for the Sydney Roosters and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Lane joined the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in 2018, where he had a standout season, scoring 11 tries in 24 appearances.

 His impressive form earned him a call-up to the New South Wales State of Origin team in 2019, where he played in all three series games.

In 2020, Lane joined the Parramatta Eels and continued to show his versatility as a second rower. His ability to play on the edge and in the middle of the field has made him a valuable asset to the team.

 In 2021, Lane played in all but one of the Eels’ games and helped the team reach the semi-finals of the NRL.
