Jess G. “Chuy” Garca is an American politician who has served as the United States Representative for Illinois’s 4th congressional district since 2019.

On Tuesday, Democratic Rep. Jess “Chuy” Garca of Illinois confirmed the loss of his daughter. “Yesterday night, at the age of 28, our dear daughter, Rosa, died away,” Garca stated in a statement posted by his office. “Our entire family is devastated.”

Rosa Garcia, the daughter of Democratic Congressman Jess “Chuy” Garca of Illinois, died on Monday night at 28. Her Father issued a statement on Tuesday expressing the family’s grief at losing their cherished daughter.

The statement reads, “Rosa entered our home as a small kid who had been in the foster care system.”

“We tried our best to give her a stable, caring, and welcoming environment. During this difficult time, our family requests privacy and appreciates your thoughts and prayers.”Her death’s cause has not been made public.

Rosa Garcia was adopted as a young child from the foster care system by the Garcia family. The reason for the death has not yet been revealed, and the family has asked for privacy at this terrible time.

‘Our family requests privacy and appreciates your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Rosa was the congressman’s only daughter and one of three adult daughters of the 66-year-old congressman and his wife, Evelyn.

Garcia’s daughter’s death was announced on the same day as the runoff election for Chicago mayor. Garcia sprinted for the post but finished fourth in February, knocking him out of the competition.

Garca has been involved in politics in Chicago for almost three decades and was elected to Congress in 2018.

In Tuesday’s runoff race, he joins socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Rep. Ayanna Pressley in supporting fellow Democrat Brandon Johnson (D-Mass.).

‘The death of a child is a tragedy that no parent should ever go through. ‘I hope that in the face of this great loss, Rep. Garcia and his family will find solace in the memories of Rosa’s compassion and spirit.’
