Jordan Terrell Carter, better known as Playboi Carti, is an American rapper. Carter was first signed to the local underground label Awful Records before joining ASAP Mob’s AWGE Label under Interscope Records.
He began rapping at a young age as Sir Cartier in 2011 and soon changed his name to Playboi Carti in 2013. In 2011, he began uploading songs to SoundCloud. He joined Awful Records in 2014 after meeting producer Ethereal. Carti attributes his discovery of his sound to Ethereal.

Playboi Carti Arrest And Charges Explored
Following an argument over a paternity test, Playboi Carti was arrested in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend.
The woman told Police, according to the arrest affidavit that TMZ obtained, that the rapper grabbed her throat and pushed her, holding her neck until she couldn’t breathe. She even told cops that she expected to die.
According to Police, the woman told officers she had been in a relationship with Playboi Carti for two years and had been living. She had been dating him since July 2022 and was expecting their first child on December 20 at the time of the alleged incident.
When asked about the baby, the woman told Police she wanted to speak with Playboi Carti and that a discussion about a paternity test sparked an argument that she claims escalated into a physical attack.
She told Police that a witness intervened to break up the fight and that after she escaped Carti’s grasp, she ran to her car… where she claims he attacked her again.
According to the alleged victim, Carti tried to pull her out of the car and put his hand over her mouth as she attempted to call the Police using the vehicle’s SOS feature. The woman had visible neck, chest, and back injuries when officers arrived.
Jordan Carter, aka Playboi Carti, was arrested for felony aggravated assault.
Brian Steel, his attorney, tells TMZ, “Mr. Carter was wrongfully accused. This case will be dismissed without prosecution or litigation, according to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.”
