Paul Di’Anno was an English heavy metal vocalist known for his tenure as the original lead singer of Iron Maiden.

Paul Di’Anno’s health declination started in 2015 when the singer caught sepsis and was hospitalized for eight months in England.

Similarly, after one year of battling with sepsis, the Iron Maiden vocalist got Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

In 2016, Paul reportedly underwent an operation to remove a “rugby ball-sized abscess” in his lungs.

Furthermore, he required a knee-replacement operation on both knees after getting involved in several motorcycle accidents over the years.


In January 2021, a crowdfunded campaign was launched to raise money for Di’Anno’s knee surgery. In November of the same year, the singer underwent treatment and surgery in Croatia.

After the surgery, the singer was restricted to performing in a wheelchair for more than two years.

Unfortunately, on October 21, 2024, the world lost one of the finest rock vocalists, Paul Di’Anno.

The vocalist fought against severe health issues to be with his fans and to perform on the stage, even if he had to be in a wheelchair.
