She received the Journalist of the Year award twice in the British Fashion Awards. She worked as a stylist and presenter while serving as Hello Fashion Monthly’s editor.
The socialite, credited with creating the phrase “supermodel,” died on Sunday. Unfortunately, the day was also her birthday. Talk about tragedy!
Self-described workaholic, the New Zealander started as a trainee writer when she was 16 and eventually rose to become the Daily Telegraph’s fashion editor in 1985.

She received the Eugenia Sheppard Media Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2011, and fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg referred to her as “a tremendous force.”
