Naomi Osaka is currently in the headlines after withdrawing from the Australian Open. On Sunday in Melbourne, the Australian Open made Osaka’s withdrawal official.

Naomi Osaka, who holds both Japanese and American nationalities, follows Christianity. She grew up in a multicultural household as her mother is from Japan while her Father was born in Haiti. 

Her parents moved to New York from Japan when she was three because of family disputes. Later on, Osaka and her family settled down in Florida. 

Both Naomi and her sister are using their mother’s surname. Osaka was more accessible when they lived in Japan, and they continued having it later.

Though Osaka has been living in the States since she was three, she represents Japan as a tennis player. 

When Naomi is not playing, she loves to do philanthropic work. Apart from that, the tennis player also has a dog who she has named Panda.

Mari Osaka is the older sister of tennis player Naomi Osaka. She is a Japanese fashion designer and also a former tennis player. 

Mari and Naomi have worked together on many fashion designs and art projects. Back when she was playing Tennis, she reached four ITF finals.

At the 2014 Bank of the West Classic, Osaka made her WTA Tour debut in the doubles match alongside Marina Shamayk. However, they lost the first round to Varvara Lepchenko and Ajla Tomljanović.

In the 2019 Miami Open, she made her WTA Tour singles debut. Moreover, she also received a wildcard into the main draw. However, she lost to Whitney Osuigwe.

In early 2021, she announced her retirement from professional Tennis. After leaving Tennis, she focused on her art and fashion design.

Moreover, the tennis pro also co-designed her sister Naomi’s Met Gala look. Mari has also created custom-designed COVID masks for UNICEF. 

She created the cover illustration for the June 2020 issue of GQ Japan, which features her sister.

Naomi Osaka Is A Well-Known Tennis Player 

The Japanese sportswoman is a well-known professional tennis player. The Women’s Tennis Association has ranked her as the top singles player in the world (WTA)

Moreover, she is also the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles. Osaka also has the title of a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, with two Australian Open and two U.S. Open titles.

It also includes two at the Premier Mandatory level. Naomi is the first woman to win successive major singles titles since Serena Williams in 2015.
