The family stated, “Daddy was a fighter, persevering through a heart attack and a cardiac arrest.
He constantly said he wanted to return home because he missed his family. Nonetheless, the illness outweighed his body’s ability to heal.”
Dumaual’s son Miguel had recently begged prayers for his father after the legendary journalist had a heart attack. Dumaual had been under the Philippine Heart Centre’s care for a month.
The family was comforted that Dumaual was aware of their continued presence and affection.
“We also made it a point to let him know how loved he was by his friends in the business and even nice strangers who have been giving prayers and help for his recovery,” they said of the support he got.
