In the web of intermingling careers and personal life, the relationship between Jyoti Maurya, a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and Manish Dubey, a Commander of the National Guard, has become a point of contention.
This relationship came under the public eye following allegations of an extramarital affair by Alok Kumar Maurya, Jyoti’s husband. Alok and Jyoti Maurya married in 2010 when Alok worked as a Class IV team member in the Panchayat Raj Department.
Then, Jyoti expressed her desire to prepare for the civil services examination. The couple moved to Prayagraj, where Alok supported Jyoti in her academic pursuits.
Her hard work eventually paid off in 2016 when she secured the 16th position in the UP Public Service Commission PCS exam and was appointed SDM. Since then, Jyoti has served in various districts, including Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, and Jaunpur.
However, this trajectory of success took a sharp turn when Alok accused his wife of having an illicit relationship with Manish. The accusation came after he allegedly found them in an intimate situation at his wife’s official residence in February.
