All of these injuries, which both parties sustained, were a direct result of the collision in which they were both involved. The event occurred on Sunday, October 15, at around 10:15 pm near Edgely Avenue and Belmont Avenue.
According to the Police complaint, the driver, a 32-year-old woman, was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Belmont when her Mercedes SUV collided with an electrical post and then drove head-on into a tree.
Emergency services were called to transport the driver to the hospital to treat his potentially fatal injuries after he was thrown from the car.
When the accident occurred, the driver was heading northbound on Belmont, and the vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction.
Following the incident, the vehicle caught Fire for unknown reasons, and authorities have not disclosed any details.
The prompt response of firefighters allowed them to rescue the driver from the wreckage, where they were trapped inside the twisted remains of the car. It remains unclear what caused the Fire to start.
