Lama Zopa Rinpoche, a famed Tibetan Buddhist master, and Spiritual Leader passed away on April 13th, 2023, at Kopan Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal. Rinpoche had been passing altitude sickness while on a retreat in the Tsum Valley and had to be brought down urgently to Kathmandu.

Sorely, upon his return, he stopped breathing, and despite sweats by the main croaker at Karuna Hospital, Rinpoche couldn’t be revived. His godliness, the Dalai Lama, was informed of Rinpoche’s end and is offering guidance to his scholars and followers during this delicate time.

Rinpoche’s body has been in contemplation at Kopan Monastery, where lama guys and monks take turns in sessions offering prayers and pujas.
