Police claimed they found no notes or documents mentioning Grimmie at Loibl’s residence or the Orlando hotel room where he spent the night.

The Police department’s report on the case is chock-full of oddities. Loibl’s relatives stated he had no history of mental illness but lived “like a hermit,” covering his bedroom windows with aluminum foil and thick drapes due to an “aversion to light.”

Grimmie’s brother, Mark, seized Loibl and stopped him from escaping the scene, but Loibl eventually committed suicide.

Police discovered two revolver magazines in his pocket, a tactical knife tied to his ankle, a Florida driver’s license, and a ticket for Grimmie’s concert that he’d printed five days previously.

Authorities could never find a clear motivation for Loibl’s acts during the inquiry. Loibl, on the other hand, shot himself to death seconds afterward and was never brought to justice for his acts.

Loibl had no past criminal record and was characterized as socially awkward and reclusive by those who knew him.

Kevin James Loibl, according to Cory Dennington, was a friend of his for fifteen years and was regarded as his “only friend in the world,” he stated that Loibl developed a fascination with Grimmie and became highly fascinated and obsessed with her in roughly a year.

Furthermore, throughout the inquiry, Police were informed by roughly five of Loibl’s coworkers that they were aware of his fascination with Grimmie but unaware of its magnitude.

Some accounts claim he was driven by his unrequited love for Grimmie, while others believe he was suffering from a mental ailment.
