On the day of the murder, Kelly received a phone call from someone who identified himself as John. She told her younger brother Richard, whom she babysat, that she was going to a friend’s House.

Kelly was just two days away from her 14th birthday at her death. She lived with her parents, Victoria and Richard, and her brother Richard on Horton Road in Valley Stream, New York.

When Kelly’s Father arrived that day, he realized she was not at ho, and it was already 6 pm. He called Kelly’s friends and went out to search for her.

He checked food stores, malls, and other places Kelly might have gone. When he couldn’t find her anywhere, he reported her missing to the Police around midnight.

The following morning, Police officers searched the area and nearby houses for any signs of Kelly. During the investigations, they discovered that children in the neighborhood had seen Kelly entering Golub’s House around 3:45 pm.

The Police searched Golub’s House, and in the sleeping bag in the basement, they found Kelly’s mutilated body.

Who Is the Murderer Of Kelly Ann Tinyes?

Robert Golub, a 21-year-old bodybuilder, was charged with the murder of Kelly Ann Tinyes. During the investigation, it was revealed that Golub’s blood was found on Kelly’s body.

After a year-long trial, Robert was convicted of second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He later claimed that the killing was an accident.

Golub stated that he was on steroids when Kelly ran into the House and collided with him, causing her to fall down the stairs and become unconscious. Golub suffocated her but didn’t intend to.

He then slapped her to wake her up, but the slaps turned into punches and kicks, according to chilling crimes.

Golub lived with his parents and fourteen-year-old brother just five doors from Kelly’s House. Before the murder, he had never gotten into trouble with the Police, except for speeding and driving tickets.

Standing at 5 foot 3 inches, Golub was passionate about bodybuilding and even told the Police that he was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was solid for his height and age. 

The case resurfaced in 2019 when the Tinyes family released a petition to deny Golub’s parole. “Robert Golub is not a murderer, but rather a child murderer and psychopath.”, the petition read.
