Kamila Pacassi Zanga, 23 year-old, was stabbed by Edwin Marco Calle Huanca, 24, at the Simon Bolivar Higher Teachers’ College in Caranavi, Bolivia.

Witnesses say that Kamila Pacassi and Edwin Marco were in a romantic relationship.

However, a few days ago, Kamila, a fourth-year student in Early Childhood Education, told him she didn’t want to continue the relationship.

This upset her ex-partner, who went to the classroom to “talk” to her.

But the duo argued, and in rage, he attacked her over 30 times.

The Higher School for Teacher Training released a statement expressing sadness over the events and declared a mourning period.

The institution announced that it would observe mourning while allowing some flexibility in academic activities at the Caranavi Academic Unit. They expressed their condolences for the loss of Kamila Pacassi Zanga.

Students were in tears, asking Marco Edwin to stop, but he went on stabbing Kamila P.

When students had the chance, they quickly left the classroom for safety.

Folks were frustrated that they had time to record what was happening but not to call for help or assist someone in need.

In response, others mentioned that they were young and scared and asked if anyone had ever been in a situation like that.

Kamila’s sister Meztly Pacassi remembered the moments they shared, from their arguments to the plans Kamila had for after finishing her degree.

She expressed how much hope was taken away from her, saying that Kamila didn’t just die; her life was taken.

Meztly reflected on how Kamila went to class and ended up dead, and her heart ached like never before. 

She felt as if Kamila’s voice still whispered in her ears, and although she wanted to promise her many things, she felt the world wouldn’t allow it.

  • As per the Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, Edwin Marco Calle Huanca refused to accept a quick legal process for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
