Blavat shared another post on January 12, saying that the Kimmel Center had been planning the event for several months.

He also added that he had reluctantly followed the advice of his medical team to postpone all performances until he was strong enough to return.

However, it was later reported that Blavat passed away due to complications from myasthenia gravis.
