Isaac Daudi, Eskender Tamra, And Patrick D. Johnson Jr. – Killed In Portland Shooting
Two of the three victims in Saturday’s deadly daylight assault were high school students, according to Portland Public Schools.
Eskender Tamra, a 17-year-old sophomore at Franklin High School, and Isaac Daudi, a 19-year-old senior at Roosevelt High School, were both honored.
In emails to parents, school officials described both students as “quiet, reserved, and respectful.”
Portland officers identified Patrick D. Johnson Jr., 20, as the third gunshot victim later Tuesday.
Police responded to reports of heavy gunshots at 12:23 pm Saturday and found three people injured inside a light-colored car on North Foss Avenue near North Foss Court.
No charges had been made as of Tuesday afternoon. PPS stated in a memo sent to families-
“We recognize the enormous toll that gun violence has taken on the city of Portland, and we will continue to work alongside the city, county, and state leaders to find impactful solutions to this problem.”
On Saturday, PPB Sgt. Kevin Allen informed KOIN 6 News that the reason for the shooting was unknown.
What was seen in the video footage
The Oregonian/OregonLive got doorbell video footage showing three people on foot frequently firing on a light-colored sedan in what has become Portland’s bloodiest shooting of 2023 thus far. The video caught roughly three dozen shots being fired.
The video shows three individuals strolling along Foss Avenue in the open daytime with their hands in their pockets as one vehicle passes.
When a second vehicle, the light-colored sedan, enters the picture, they draw their weapons and begin shooting. The hoods of their hoodies hide their features.
They chase after the car and keep shooting, and the sedan collides with a parked SUV and spins to a halt as the three individuals appear to keep firing.
The sedan moves out of view, and the video does not show where the three attackers go. It’s unknown if anyone inside the vehicle retaliated.
Do the Police Announce arrests?
As of Tuesday, authorities had made no charges. The inquiries are still ongoing.
The murders were Portland’s 15th, 16th, and 17th alleged homicides in 2023. Portland had 24 murders at this time last year and is on track to have 101 by 2022.
People brought flowers, balloons, and a branch cross to form an improvised tribute at the foot of a tree on North Foss Avenue, which was joined by lit candles and a framed picture of a young person.
