They welcomed their second child, Brooks, in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown phase. Winston was not allowed in the delivery room and was forced to keep an eye on their daughter Sadie because the family had been self-isolating together.

Melissa and Winston met at Marymount Manhattan College, where they were both students. “I am fortunate that I met my spouse in college,” she told New Jersey Monthly in 2014.
