Kontinen won the double title of the French Open boys with Christopher Rungkat in 2008. He joined the final of the Wimbledon boys’ singles that he lost in the semi-finals to Grigor Dimitrov.

He also finished with Rungkat in the doubles of the 2008 U.S. Open boys. Afterward, Kontinen’s singles’ growth was hampered by knee injuries, and in 2013 he chose to focus on doubles.

After Fame

Kontinen won his first ATP title, in 2014,  with Jarkko Nieminen at the Bet-at-home Cup Kitzbühel, as well as two more finals with Marin Draganja.
