Sister Catherine Ledger addressed the audience at the premiere and denied such claims.

I was genuinely astonished because there was him having fun, she said, speaking to the crowd at the Tribeca Film Festival event.

Every single article said that he was despondent and that playing the Joker was harming him, but in all honesty, the exact opposite was true. It is entirely incorrect.

He was having fun, and I imagine only his family and close friends knew about his incredible humor. He didn’t feel down because of the Joker.
