According to authorities, a violent shooting erupted inside a Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Hamburg on Thursday evening, killing numerous people. According to CNN affiliate RTL/NTV, at least six people have died, and seven have been injured.
The incident in the northern German city happened about 9 pm local time (3 pm ET), and there are “one or more unknown” assailants, according to Hamburg Police.

According to a Police spokeswoman, officials are looking into whether the shooter was among the multiple persons discovered deceased in the building.
Hamburg Shooting Suspect: Seven Killed In Attack At Church In Germany
On July 26, 2021, seven people were killed, and numerous more were injured in a shooting at a religious facility in Hamburg, Germany. The incident occurred near a Jehovah’s Witnesses facility in Hamburg’s Alsterdorf area.

The 29-year-old male suspect was discovered dead, perhaps from a gunshot wound he inflicted on himself. According to the German news agency DPA, he was carrying a sheet of paper with a swastika in his pocket.

Soon after 9 pm, Police were called to a gunshot inside a Jehovah’s Witness center in Hamburg, northern Germany. According to authorities, seven people were murdered, and 25 were injured, some critically.
According to Police, the shooter was among those killed. “We have no evidence of a fleeing culprit,” a spokeswoman stated shortly after the incident. Later, Police reported that they had located a “lifeless individual … who we suspect may be a culprit”. According to authorities, investigations were underway to rule out the involvement of further culprits.
Local media sites stated that a particular Police unit was driving passed the center when they heard shots fired. The members of the USE task forces were en route to their lodging in the Alsterdorf Police headquarters when they stopped to investigate the attack, entering the premises and evacuating people.
Hamburg Shooting Suspect: Investigation Explored
The incident has been described as “shocking” by Hamburg’s mayor, Peter Tschentscher. “The news from Alsterdorf / Groß Borstel is alarming. “My heartfelt sympathies to the victims’ families,” he stated.
Using a disaster warning app, Police warned residents of an “exceptional threat” in the region. Police have advised residents to stay home and avoid the area, and streets near the church have been blocked.

A helicopter soared overhead as footage from the area showed multiple armed Police officers inside and around the Kingdom Hall.
The streets surrounding the place of worship have been blocked off, and Police have issued a warning of “high risk” in the area, according to the spokeswoman.
After being summoned to the scene, officers discovered dead and injured persons on the bottom level of the three-story structure, where an event occurred, according to Hamburg Police spokesperson Holger Vehren.
When Police initially entered the building, they heard gunfire on the top level and discovered a deceased individual above. According to a spokeswoman, authorities think it was the culprit, but no other information could be released now.
Police noted on Twitter that there is “no verifiable information on the reason for the murder” and requested people not to post unsubstantiated speculations.
