Marjorie Oelrichs, the mother of Eddy Duchin’s son Peter Duchin, was an American socialite born on June 23, 1908, as the daughter of Marjorie Ramely Oelrichs and Charles de Loosey Oelrichs.

After meeting at the Waldorf, Marjorie eventually married Eddy Duchin on June 5, 1935.

Their wedding ceremony was held at her mother’s apartment in the Hotel Pierre and was presided over by Judge Vincent Lippe.

Eddy Duchin was Jewish significantly impacted his wife, Marjorie, who was removed from the New York Social Register due to their marriage.

Despite being removed as a socialite, her response to this was calm as she reportedly said, “Who cares? It’s just a phone book.”
