During his performance, DaBaby made offensive comments targeting both members of the LGBTQ community and individuals living with HIV/AIDS that were both homophobic and sexist.

He encouraged the audience to raise their cellphone lights, but not if they were gay men or had HIV/AIDS. He made a false claim about the speed of death associated with the disease.

On the same day, DaBaby tried to justify himself through Instagram Live, where he made additional comments that were also homophobic.

Later, DaBaby acknowledged the right of individuals with HIV/AIDS to be upset and emphasized that the concerns of the LGBTQ community were their own. This sentiment may have further fueled the LGBTQ community’s dislike of him.

Artists And Celebrities On DaBaby Controversy

DaBaby’s onstage remarks have been met with criticism from other artists in the music industry, including Dua Lipa, who collaborated with him a few years ago on a remix of her hit song “Levitating.”

Dua Lipa shared her surprise and horror through her Instagram story in response to DaBaby’s comments, stating that she was “surprised and horrified.”

Through a tweet, Elton John, a prominent advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness, spoke out against the spread of misinformation regarding the disease.

He stated that it only fuels Stigma and discrimination, which is the opposite of what is needed in the fight against the AIDS epidemic.

Madonna shared a video of DaBaby’s Rolling Loud comments on Instagram, accompanied by a caption in which she debunked the remarks. She has been a long-standing ally of the LGBTQ community.

Drummer Questlove of The Roots disapproved of DaBaby on Instagram by crossing out the rapper’s name on a list of festival performers. He stated that DaBaby’s remarks were not cool.
