In December, Chael Sonnen, a former UFC fighter, was accused of attacking multiple people at a Las Vegas hotel.

According to Las Vegas Review-Journal, the former UFC athlete was initially charged with felony battery and six misdemeanor battery counts.

However, in March, prosecutors dropped the felony battery charge and filed an amended criminal complaint reducing the charges Sonnen faced to six misdemeanor battery counts.

During a court hearing on April 21, 2023, Las Vegas Justice Pro Tem Craig Friedberg dismissed two of those felonies.

The two dismissed counts accused Chael of attacking Christopher & Julie Stellpflug of San Luis Obispo, California.

The self-proclaimed victims claimed Sonnen repeatedly punched them without provocation on December 18, 2022, in a hallway of the Four Seasons Hotel.

Defense attorney Pete Dayvid Figler filed a motion to dismiss all charges against Sonnen after prosecutors could not obtain statements the Stellpflugs gave to a California TV station.
