Daniel Cox is the current basketball head coach at Miller’s alma mater, New Castle High School. Brandon’s brother-in-law is Cox.

He shattered his arm once while playing quarterback for his juvenile football team, and then he broke it again while leaping for a loose basketball.

The coach ran into a basket support during baton practice in junior high and suffered a severe gash on his face.

Miller participated in basketball as a child. At New Castle Chrysler High School, Brandon Miller’s Father worked as a teacher and an assistant basketball coach.

According to those who knew him, Brandon Miller was “relentless” in his pursuit of basketball.

When he was eight years old, he was performing box jumps when he fell, sustaining a significant injury that required medical attention. He was ready to start his workout the next day.

At nine, Miller started doing sit-ups, push-ups, and agility drills every day.

The largest high school arena in the nation, New Castle Fieldhouse, was his to shoot in, and he frequently did so until 10 or 11 p.m.

Mr. Miller declined the option to become the head coach somewhere else because the family did not want to leave New Castle.
