He added, Yesterday night was incredibly exhausting because he afterward regretted his words during a live conversation in 2017. He regrets using the derogatory word and apologizes sincerely.

The episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, in which Sasse discussed his new book, would no longer be broadcast by HBO, according to a statement made earlier by the network.
