She said they put a computer trolley against the door, closed the blinds, and heard screaming and crying. The student also mentioned that she could not contact her parents and was scared and left alone.

Several parents also spoke out about the incident, expressing concern for their children’s safety. One parent stated that her daughter was distraught after being locked in a room.

Similarly, another parent said their daughter raced to her classroom and was put into lockdown. They also described how armed Police were roaming the building.

The incident caused significant disruption to the college community, with Police cars and vans parked in the surrounding area and residents of Chestnut Avenue reporting that they had never seen so many Police cars down their road before.

Andrew White, a 64-year-old resident, said that an unmarked Police car, four Police cars, and one van were parked on Chestnut Avenue at the height of the incident. He also mentioned that he did not know whether the Police had caught the suspect.

Principal Rob Temple quickly released a statement reassuring parents and students that the college campus was safe. He praised the staff for following lockdown procedures, which ensured the safety of everyone on the premises.
