Devon Shelton Died After Committing Suicide At A Young Age
As per several reports, Archbishop Rummel High School student Devon Shelton committed suicide in March 2025.
However, further information has not been revealed as the investigation is ongoing.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) is leading the investigation, gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
Archbishop Rummel High School issued a statement expressing sympathy and restating its commitment to students’ well-being.
As the investigation continues, the Archbishop High School community is coming together to honor Devon’s memory through vigils and prayer services, offering support to one another in this heartbreaking moment.
Those who are in crisis are urged to seek help by contacting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988.
Closed ones and relatives have also condoned Devon’s family to stay strong in this challenging time.
Devon will always be remembered for his unforgettable contributions to Archbishop Rummel High School. His family will soon release the funeral schedule.

Devon Shelton’s Parents Are Mourning The Loss Of Their Son
Devon Shelton was born in Metairie, Louisiana, to his father, Kenneth Shelton, and his mother, whose identities have not yet been revealed. They have always supported Devon in achieving his dreams.
According to Kenneth’s Facebook handle, he attended Rhea County High School and is now the Owner and CEO of Auto Mechanic.
Shelton’s parents are devastated by the shocking death of their son, Devon.
In addition, he is survived by his aunt, Samantha Shelton, who lives in Spring City, Tennessee. She attended Rhea County High School and studied Medical Assistants at Fortis Institute.
Later, she studied as a Vet Assistant at Penn Foster. She is a former Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Omni Community Health.
Samantha tied the knot with David Lemons on August 16, 1996.
Recently, she took to her official Facebook handle and mourned the loss of Devon and remembered the time she spent with him. She wrote,
Devon Shelton the last time I saw you you were 4ys chasing me, you refused to call me Aunt Sam it was always Aunt BoBo but I talked to you not as much as I should have! I am going to miss your brilliant mind, your laugh and your big heart! I wish I could have been there more! I love you Devon and im going to miss you so much!
Devon is also survived by his cousins Coty Lemons and Joseph Lemons.
Coty lives in Dunlap, Tennessee, went to Rhea County High School, and has worked at TenCate Grass US since November 1, 2021.
She tied the knot with Jared Smith on October 23, 2020.

- Carla’s funeral was held on Tuesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
