Netflix’s Inventing Anna introduced us to the world of con woman and fake heiress Anna Delvey (also known by her real name Anna Sorokin).
Although the series is based on a true story, some parts of the show have been partially fictionalized. At the same time, some characters based on real people have been given new names.
However, one character that has fans stumped is Anna’s boyfriend, Chase Sikorski (played by Sameer Usmani).
Chase’s version of Inventing Anna is believed to be based on Anna’s real-life boyfriend. Until now, Anna’s IRL partner has been kept under wraps – but it looks like his identity has finally been revealed.
While the character of Chase is said to be based on Anna’s real-life boyfriend, Jessica Pressler’s original article in New York Magazine did not reveal many details about his identity.
Anna Delvey previously revealed she was charging $10,000 (around £7,300) to reveal the real Chase’s name.
Now it looks like the offer isn’t necessary as Anna’s real ex-boyfriend has reportedly been revealed as tech entrepreneur Hunter Lee Soik.
Multiple sources have reportedly confirmed that Anna was dating Hunter.
Hunter’s LinkedIn profile shows him giving a TED Talk, which matches Pressler’s description of Ann’s friend who is “on the TED-Talks circuit.”
Pressler also reported that Anna’s boyfriend ‘The Futurist’ had ‘moved to the Emirates’ – with Hunter’s LinkedIn also showing he had worked in Dubai for a time.
Anna Delvey Family
A German woman named Anna Sorokin used the pseudonym Anna Delvey, who moved to New York in 2013.
Under the false name of Sorokin, she pretended to be a wealthy German heiress to establish herself on the New York social scene.
She used this name until 2017, when the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office began investigating her for bank fraud.
In reality, Sorokin’s parents came from modest means. Her father worked as a truck driver, while her mother was a convenience store owner before becoming a housewife.
She was born in the city of Domodedovo near Moscow in January 1991, and her family moved to Germany in 2007 when she was 16 years old.
Sorokin moved to London to attend Central Saint Martins in 2011. However, she dropped out and returned to Germany. She then moved to Paris to start an internship at the French fashion magazine Purple.
It was in Paris that she began using the name Delvey. Her parents said they “don’t know that last name.”

While Delvey paid Netflix for the rights to her life story for their limited series Inventing Anna, after paying restitution and ongoing legal fees, there wasn’t nearly as much money left to her name.
Sorokin was eventually charged with multiple counts of grand larceny and misdemeanor theft of services.
On October 3, 2017, she was arrested in a sting operation.
She was sentenced to four to 12 years in state prison at Rikers Island, fined $24,000, and ordered to pay restitution of approximately $199,000.
