Many in the film industry were surprised by Mr. Baldwin’s criminal charges, which his legal team vehemently denied.

The prosecutor’s conclusion, according to Mr. Baldwin’s attorney Luke Nikas, “distorts Halyna Hutchins’ sad death and reflects a horrific miscarriage of justice.”

According to the report, there was no reason for Mr. Baldwin to think there was a live bullet in the rifle or elsewhere on the set.
