Rylan Griffen, a senior at Richardson High School and the area’s fifth-ranked boys basketball recruit, committed to Alabama on Tuesday night.
Griffen is a scoring guard whose style is built around upside, and he can be as good as he wants in basketball.
He can develop into a top-tier defender and potentially become a challenging shooter with a wide range of basket-putting moves.
Griffin is a capable scorer from all three points on the floor and a good shooter, but he still needs to work on his shooting.
He might further progress in that area and raise his overall field goal percentages by occasionally selecting better shots. He combines exceptional bounce with good length.
