Lee informed the reporter, “I identify as bisexual… and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering newspaper while held at the Twin Towers Correctional Complex in Los Angeles.
“I wanted him to know that the next time he should think about running his stuff past others who could be affected.”
Lee alleges he had been homeless and was attempting to find permanent lodgings when the event at the comedy festival occurred.

Dave Chappelle Controversy Explored
Chappelle has received a lot of backlash in the last year for jokes he made about the LGBTQIA+ community, particularly the trans community.
Lee — facing four misdemeanor counts arising from the brawl — claimed that security at the event caused him two black eyes and fractured his arm, and added, “They spat on me and twisted me as if on purpose.”
Following his detention, Lee was suspected of attempting to stab his roommate last year, and he is now charged with attempted murder. As the film of the Chappelle confrontation went online, the victim identified Lee as his attacker.
Isaiah Lee’s attack on Dave Chappelle was a tackle on stage during his performance, not an attempted stabbing.
Lee’s justifications for the attack included hallucinations and delusions caused by his schizophrenia and his not taking his medication at the time.
