Who Is Stephen Pandos? Jennifer Pandos Missing Girl Brother Investigates Her Disappearance
Stephen Pandos is the brother of Jennifer Lynn Pandos, a teenager who went missing over 30 years ago.
The case of Jennifer’s disappearance remains unsolved, but a new HBO documentary series called “Burden of Proof” sheds fresh light on the investigation.
The documentary, consisting of four parts and set to premiere on June 6, follows Stephen Pandos as he delves into his sister’s case.
Filmed over nearly eight years, the investigation takes various twists and turns as Pandos and the documentary team search for answers.
One of the reasons Stephen wanted to participate in the documentary was to provide a deeper understanding of the complexities of trauma and to seek justice for his sister, Jennifer.
At the time of Jennifer’s disappearance 1987 from their family home in the Kingsmill neighborhood of James City County, Stephen was away at college.
Throughout the documentary, he strives to uncover the truth behind his sister’s vanishing, fueled by the belief that his parents, Margie and Ron, possess more knowledge about the incident than they are willing to disclose.
At the start of the series, Pandos is estranged from both of his parents.
Jennifer Pandos Missing Case
Jenny Lynn Pandos went missing from her Williamsburg, Virginia, home on February 10, 1987.
Jenny would wake up at 6:00 am to shower and prepare for school. But on February 10, Jenny’s mother, Margie, didn’t hear Jenny’s shower running.
Margie thought Jenny had overslept, but she became worried when she found Jenny’s bedroom door locked. Jenny always left her door open. Margie and Ron unlocked the door and discovered that Jenny was missing, along with her purse.
On Jenny’s pillow, her parents found a note that troubled them. The note said that Jenny was okay with someone but needed time away due to problems.
It instructed her parents to go to work and not involve the police. It also mentioned that Jenny would try to call them, but only at their workplaces.
Despite their concern, Margie and Ron followed the note’s instructions and waited for Jenny’s call. However, after three days without contact, they contacted the James City Police Department.
The police initially treated Jenny as a runaway after seeing the note. They theorized that Jenny, who was left-handed, wrote the note with her right hand, as the handwriting could have been more relaxed and practical.
The note suggested that Jenny wanted to take a break from everything. According to neighbors and friends, Jenny had difficulty with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Tony Tobler. Dateline could not reach Tony Tobler for a statement.
Still, authorities have stated that he cooperated with several police interviews after Jenny went missing, and Tony is not considered a person of interest in the case.
Apart from the note, police have not discovered any other evidence regarding Jenny’s location or what might have happened to her, as reported to Dateline.
