Where is Latavia “Tay” McGee now? She was kidnapped in Mexico on Friday, and her mother, Barbara Burgess, told ABC News that she traveled to Mexico for medical treatment. 

Latavia “Tay” McGee is an American woman kidnapped in Mexico shortly after crossing the border.

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico said she and her three cousins entered Matamoros, Tamaulipas, in a white minivan along with North Carolina license plates. They are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the kidnappers.

The shooters opened Fire on the passengers just as their car entered Mexican territory, herded them into another car, and fled the area.

According to a statement from the United States ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, an innocent Mexican, was killed.

Latavia “Tay” McGee traveled to Mexico for medical treatment with her cousin Woodard and their friends Brown and Williams, according to her mother, Barbara Burgess and was reportedly kidnapped there on Friday.

The current whereabouts of Latavia “Tay” McGee are unknown, and the authorities are investigating the situation.

On the day of the appointment, Burgess claimed she had spoken to her daughter and was informed that she was just a few minutes from the doctor’s office. After that, though, McGee’s phone was unreachable.

Now, Barbara told ABC News that she was worried about her daughter’s trip for cosmetic surgery and advised her not to go. But before beginning the trek on Wednesday, her daughter told her, “Mom, I’ll be okay,” she recounted.

On Friday, McGee was supposed to undergo surgery. According to Burgess, she called her mother to let her know she was 15 minutes away from the doctor’s office.

Her daughter has not spoken to her since. Burgess told the news station, “Her phone just went to voicemail.

According to reports from the White House, the State Department, Department of Homeland Security, & Mexican authorities are collaborating to bring the abducted victims back.

Jean-Pierre continued, “We will keep working with Mexico and pressuring them to prosecute those involved.

The FBI is looking into the case along with other federal partners & Mexican law enforcement organizations.

The organization is appealing to the general public for assistance in finding the abducted citizens and has announced a reward of $50,000 for their safe return and the capture of the suspects responsible.

Latavia traveled to Mexico for medical treatment with her cousin Woodard and their friends Brown and Williams. 

On the other hand, Brown’s sister Zalandria Brown compared the situation to a dreadful dream from which one wishes one could awaken. “It is just awful to see a member of your family being dragged in the back of a truck.”

Now, several U.S. law enforcement officers are collaborating with Mexican authorities at all levels of government “to ensure the safe return” of the four American hostages, according to a statement made by U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar on Monday.
