Richard Treat Williams was an American actor, writer, and aviator who starred in over 120 films, plays, and television shows. Williams made his cinematic debut in 1975 with the thriller Deadly Hero. 

He sprang to fame in 1979 as George Berger in the Milo Forman picture Hair, based on the 1967 Broadway musical of the same name. Williams received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the film. In the February 1980 issue of Playgirl magazine, he was featured.

Williams received his second Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Sidney Lumet’s Prince of the City (1981). His third nomination came for his portrayal of Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire, which aired on television. 1996 the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences nominated him for the Best Actor Emmy Award.

Gill Williams was born in 1992 as the first and only child of Treat Williams and his wife, Pam Van Sant. Treat became a parent for the first time in December 1992, when he and Van Sant welcomed their son, Gill Williams.

Following his father’s traditions, Gill studied acting before concentrating on music.

Treat wished Gill a happy 31st birthday on Instagram in December 2022. The actor tweeted, beside a photo of his kid smiling with their dog, “Happy Birthday, my beautiful Gill! I’m pretty proud of you.

Ellie Williams, Treat Williams and Pam Van Sant’s second child and only daughter, was born in 1998. Growing up in the entertainment industry, Ellie spent valuable time with her father, including a recent trip to Universal Studios.

Like her elder brother, Ellie grew up on sets and red carpets for her father’s film and television endeavors.

Treat Williams Wife And Family Explored

Williams was married to Pam Van Sant for 33 years, lasting 33 years. Pam appeared regularly in Williams’ Twitter tweets and had a close relationship with him. 

They exchanged vows in a lovely wedding ceremony and spent many special moments together. Williams shared his feelings for Pam by sharing passionate remarks and images from their wedding day on social media.

Treat Williams valued his family above everything else. Traditions he treasured included picking out a Christmas tree and decorating it with his family while listening to Frank Sinatra’s Merry Christmas record. 

The COVID-19 epidemic allowed him to spend more time with his loved ones on their Vermont farm, further cementing their relationship.

Tragically, Treat Williams died in a motorbike accident on June 12, 2023, at 71. His untimely death left his wife, Pam, and their daughters, Gill and Ellie, bereaved of a loving husband and father.
