On Wednesday morning, a severe mishap occurred in Timisoara’s city center, where a man was struck by a tram at the Piata 700 station a little before 6:00.
According to reports, the man had been seated on a bench when a Bozankaya tram on line 6 began to move.
Suddenly, the man stood up, approached the gate, and attempted to open the last door of the moving tram.
Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell under the tram, which ultimately caused his demise.
The Bozankaya Company had previously experienced a tram catching Fire in Timisoara, and their initial findings have also been made public.
The Police have initiated a criminal case for manslaughter and are investigating the incident to determine the circumstances in which the unfortunate event occurred.

A man seated on a bench stood up suddenly when a Bozankaya tram on line 6 began moving.
He attempted to open the last door while the tram was in motion, lost his balance, and fell underneath it, resulting in his death.
Firefighters and SMURD crews responded quickly, but doctors could not save the man.
The Police are investigating the incident and have opened a criminal file for manslaughter. The man has not been identified as he was found without any documents.
Similarly, trams on lines 1, 2, 6, and 8 were redirected due to the incident at Piața Timișoara 700 station.

Police Are Currently Pursuing An Investigation
The Police are currently working to establish the man’s identity.
They are investigating the incident and trying to identify the deceased man.
Further, the Police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter and are conducting further investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
The incident occurred around 5:40 am on Coriolan Brediceanu Street, with the tram heading towards Piața Libertății.

Emergency responders, including firefighters and an ambulance, were present, but the trapped man could not be saved.
“The victim, a man approximately 50 years old, was found dead by the SAJ doctor upon arriving at the scene,” said the representative of ISU Timiș.
Initial investigations by the Police revealed that a 44-year-old man was operating the tram on Coriolan Brediceanu street towards Piața Libertății from Dr. Iosif Nemoianu street.
At the intersection with Paris street, the tram hit and injured a pedestrian who had reportedly grabbed onto the moving tram, lost his balance, and fallen under its wheels.
The impact resulted in the pedestrian’s death. The Police are currently working to identify the victim and have opened a criminal case for manslaughter.
