Tim Kaine Questions Pete Hegseth’s Judgement Over Alcohol Allegations During Senate Hearing

At a Senate hearing, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine grilled Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, on a wide range of controversies, including instances of intoxication at work.

The most significant confrontation between the two men centered around Hegseth’s alleged history of showing up to work while under the influence of alcohol.

Although Republican senators dismissed the accusations, Kaine emphasized how being intoxicated on the job, especially in a prominent position like Secretary of Defense, reflected poor judgment and a lack of responsibility.

The senator said,

One of your colleagues said that you got drunk at an event at a bar and chanted, ‘K*ll all Muslims.’ Another colleague, not anonymous, we have this, said you took co-workers to a strip club, you were drunk, you tried to dance with str*ppers, you had to be held off the stage.

Furthermore, he argued that if Hegseth were truly intoxicated at work, it would undermine his candidacy for the position.

Following the brutal allegations from Kaine, Senator Markwayne Mullin confronted him, saying that he wanted to know how many senators had appeared on the floor drunk to vote.

He also asked how many senators were involved in some other personal scandals, like cheating on their wives, and Kaine had never called for their resignation.

How many Senators have you seen show up drunk to vote…how many have been divorced from cheating on their wives? Did you ask for their RESIGNATIONS?”

Hypocrisy in politics: Megyn Kelly slams time Kaine’s “Holier Than Thou” Approach in Pete hegseth’s confirmation hearing

In the latest episode of the “Megyn Kelly Show,” the former Fox News host grilled Senator Tim Kaine on his handling of Pete Hegseth’s confirmation hearing, focusing on his “holier-than-thou” attitude.

Kaine had Hegseth on blast for multiple extramarital affairs,w which backfired when Kelly referenced the apparent contradiction with his own history.

Additionally, the host then berated the 67-year-old background as Hillary Clinton’s 2016 running mate and how he was quite close to the Clintons even after Bill Clinton’s highly publicized extramarital affairs with Monica Lewinsky.

Additionally, she criticized Kaine for the line of questioning he directed at Hegseth based on an inappropriate and defamatory remark Hegseth made during the confirmation hearing.

The question, “How long have you been beating your wife?” was unfair to Hegseth, who had already faced public allegations of marital infidelity.

Kelly was disgusted by this line of questioning, referring to it as “below the belt” and an attempt to undermine Hegseth unfairly.
