Moreover. they were accused of being paid by Spencer Cox’s campaign to run against Phil Lyman because the accuser would create voter confusion. 

According to Phil, the Cox campaign had offered the Utah politician $1000 and a steak dinner for placing his name on the ballot claim, which Lyman denied. 

The suit filed includes testimony from a co-worker, James Newson, who says that the autism advocate admitted to the alleged offer at work. 

However, Lyman and his mom blatantly denied these allegations. They said;

Before we even submitted our candidacy, a plan was already in motion to push us out of the race.This plan culminated in a frivolous lawsuit that we simply cannot afford to fight. The claims in this lawsuit are false, and we want to make it unequivocally clear that we did nothing wrong and broke no laws. We have every right to run for Governor and Lieutenant Governor and should not have been forced out by those with deeper pockets.
