Raymond Anthony Lewis Jr. is a former American professional football player who spent his middle linebacker with the Baltimore Ravens for 17 seasons in the NFL.

He played quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes and was an All-American during his collegiate career.

“Really can’t believe I’m even typing this, but RIP, big brother,” Rahsaan Lewis wrote. “A true angel, I pray (you’re) at peace now because ik how much you were (really) hurting… I love you. I love you; I love you.”

Rahaan Lewis, Ray Lewis III’s younger brother, rushed to Instagram after receiving the tragic news to convey his great love and sorrow.

Rashaan described his late brother as an absolute angel in an emotional eulogy, emphasizing their close friendship.

The older Lewis, now 48, was a Ravens standout from 1996 to 2012, winning NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2000 and 2003 and Super Bowl championships in 2000 and 2012.

Ray Lewis III, like his father, played college football at the University of Miami. Lewis, the younger, began his career as a running back in his home state of Florida before transferring to Coastal Carolina and Division II Virginia Union.

“He’s a wonderful young man and an even better teammate,” Virginia Union associate head coach Diego Ryland told TMZ Sports. “The whole Virginia Union University community is praying for Ray’s family as they grieve his death.”
