On March 27, 2023, a tragic shooting occurred at The Covenant School, a privately-run Presbyterian school in the United States in the Green Hills locality of Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Katherine Koonce, 60, Cynthia Peak, 61, Michael Hill, 61, and three 9-year-old children, Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, were among the seven individuals killed in the homicide.
A 28-year-old former student, Audrey Elizabeth Hale, suspect in the massacre, was fatally shot by Police officers who responded to the scene.
Who Was Katherine Koonce? Wikipedia Age And Husband
Dr. Katherine Koonce was born on December 17, 1962, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she went to the Laboratory School of Louisiana State University.
She later went on to complete her master’s degree in Education at Georgia State University and completed her Leadership and Professional Studies at Trevecca Nazarene University.
Talking about her personal life, Katherine Koonce was a married woman, and she often shared pictures of her children and husband on her social media.
Although Katherine did not reveal their names, as per her Facebook Posts, she called her husband “D” to inform her friends that she was talking about her husband.
Furthermore, Anna Koonce, one of her children, had recently become engaged, and the two had enjoyed a delightful trip together to Skyterra Wellness Retreat in North Carolina.
Dr. Katherine’s family lived in Brentwood, Tennessee, and she had been at The Covenant School for nearly seven years.
As per Police reports, at approximately 10:13 am CDT, Audrey Hale, a former student at the same school, arrived in her Honda Fit, parked it in the lot, and started shooting in a maniac manner.
The tragic shooting incident claimed the life of Dr. Katherine Koonce, age 60, who served as the head of The Covenant School, along with three other adults and three 9-year-old children.

Audrey Elizabeth Hale: The Identified Preparator
According to the Police Authorities, the shooter involved in the tragic massacre was identified as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a 28-year-old former transgender student at The Covenant School and a resident of Nashville.
Before this shooting incident, Hale had no previous criminal record, and according to The Tennesseans, he used male pronouns and used to live with his parents.
Despite being assigned female at birth, Hale had opted to use male pronouns on their LinkedIn profile.
It also stated that Hale was a graduate of Nossi College of Art and Design and was professionally engaged in the field of graphic designing, and had made a career out of it.
Upon searching for Hale’s residence, investigators discovered a meticulously drawn map of the school that indicated possible entry points and a manifesto.
It has been suggested that Hale conducted surveillance before carrying out the attack.
He planned to carry out the massacre in different places but decided not to go there because of tight security concerns.

Nashville Shooting Timeline, After-Math, and Investigation
At approximately 10:13 am CDT, Audrey Hale drove a Honda Fit to the school and parked it in the lot before commencing the shooting.
Hale was heavily armed with a handgun, an assault-type rifle, and a pistol and started firing after traversing to the school’s second floor.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department created a reunification center at the Woodmont Baptist Church in the afternoon, where they promptly let the student’s parents meet them.
The concerned authorities also searched for Hale’s residence, where they seized multiple evidence items, including two shotguns, one of which was sawed-off.
