Subsequently, she pursued further studies, completing a diploma in tropical public health in 1984, a Master of Public Health in 1988, and eventually achieving a Doctor of Philosophy in 1992.

Mary-Louise McLaws was survived by her husband, Richard Flook, and their children.

Richard Flook, her spouse, had a career as an engineer before retiring, while her children have both reached adulthood.

In addition to her immediate family, Mary-Louise McLaws is also survived by her brother.

Mary-Louise McLaws Leaves Behind Her Family 

Mary-Louise McLaws, the esteemed epidemiologist who guided Australians during the Covid-19 pandemic, passed away at 70 due to brain cancer. She left behind her husband and children. 

Her husband, Richard Flook, said McLaws died peacefully on Saturday night. He shared this information in a statement to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Flook expressed his gratitude for the excellent care provided by the medical staff at Wolper Hospital in Woollahra.

He also mentioned that McLaws received heartwarming visits from numerous supportive friends.

Similarly, the family is arranging a funeral service for McLaws, which will take place at Emanuel Synagogue in the eastern suburbs of Sydney in the upcoming days.
