Later, Marcia and her brother were raised by their single mother. Sadly, his older brother passed away in 1981 from suicide.

Marcia was 27 at the time of his brother’s demise. When her mother told her the tragic news of her son’s death, Marcia burst into tears as she was very close to him.
When she cried, Marcia’s mother told her to shut up. She said,” Look, I took that child through measles, mumps, and chicken pox. I give birth to that child. That’s my son. Don’t cry. Go home, and bury him.” And Marcia did that.
It was tough for Marcia’s mother to raise Marcia and her brother Dwight in the absence of her husband. But after Dwight’s sudden demise, she still became stronger and controlled and supported her other child.
